Raropiù 2020

Beautiful and disturbing work by Daniele Faraotti entitled English Aphasia that today we find on fresh print vinyl. Eclectic psychedelic rock that breaks all forms and clichés proving to know how to do it with a certain international taste that inevitably refers to David Byrne's goliardic hues, to the subversive fashions of the Beatles or to the industrial scenarios of Bowie.
And I do not exclude those chanting acid moments that artists like Claudio Rocchi gave us in Italy in the 1970s. And almost every song is also composed of bizarre ingredients such as the unexpected horn taken from Dino Risi's overtaking in Leonore Sprache.
And to all this are added almost totally non-existent lyrics, sung mainly in an English grammelot which makes this work a truly fascinating sound experience. In hindsight, Faraotti brings home a decidedly precious record, precisely because of that artistic freedom that we often suffocate with rules.
